Aleida Rhode’s new fashion brand
Aleida Rhode has already achieved many SL accomplishments to be proud of. A successful model, she won the title of Miss SL World 2008, and was a finalist as Miss Denmark in Miss Virtual World 2009. Now Aleida has put her creativity, style and talent into fashion design with the March 7, 2009, launch of her new brand, Fashion Nomads. Her designs range from high fashion couture to casual clothes and sculpted shoes. Aleida chose the name "Fashion Nomads" because she has lived in many places of the world. In fact, she honored places she has been by naming her designs after cities in Uganda and Kenya. Her casual fashions come in coordinating colors, making it easy and fun to mix and match. All clothing prims are "modify," and everything is very reasonably priced.
For the first casual outfit, I chose the "Gulu Capri" in dark denim. It comes in 6 colors, has prim cuffs and sells for $L 150. The "Ssese Denim Corset" is a hot little top with prim lace attachments and comes in black, grey and blue for $L 100. The "Arua Knitted Shrug" is a great layering option, with prim cuffs and two prim collar choices - fur and knit - with attachment options for both chest and spine. The shrug comes in 7 colors and sells for $L 125. The "Fashion Nomad Vamp Stiletto w. bow" heels in red are really cute and funky with this outfit. The shoes come in 6 colors and sell for $L 250. *(Additional accessories: Glowing Gems jewelry; Muism belt; Zero Style hair)
The second casual ensemble gives a more finished look, starting with the "Gulu Capri" in used black w. splat and paired with the "Jinja Flower Top," which comes in 7 colors at $L 75L. I topped it off with the "Moroto Spring Jacket" in black dots. The Jacket is offered in 7 colors, has prim cuffs and collar and sells for $L 175. *(Additional accessories: Chloe, JCNY and Bianca Foulon jewelry; caLLie cLine boots and belt; Maitreya hair)
The third casual look shows off the most recent Fashion Nomads releases. The "Konge Pants & Belt" has a prim belt and cuffs and 2 fit options - tight and the very popular loose fit. The pants come in 9 colors for $L 150. The "Luwero Halter Top" is offered in 8 colors and sells for $L 75. (For a total look, top your outfit off with the new "Muyenga Short Jacket" in 8 coordinated colors for $L 175.) Fashion Nomads' "Ntinda Ballerina" flats in creme (7 shades, $L 200) and the "Marlon Brando Cap" in creme retro dots (7 shades, $L 125) provide the perfect finishing touches. *(Additional accessories: Jewelry by EarthStones, LeLutka and Sue Stonebender; Kalnins Sunglasses; Maitreya hair) Aleida's Fashion Nomads Couture designs are on the second floor, and I expect we'll see these inventive styles on SL runways this season. The Couture dresses are beautiful and striking fashion statements, for a look that will certainly turn heads.
"Noir" mixes a translucent, decorated sculpted jacket with lots of feather prims over a black cocktail dress. Selling for $L 600, this sexy ensemble includes stockings, gloves, earrings and hat. *(Additional accessories: Courtisane boots; Tuli hair)
"Lucite" is a very chic dress in beautiful sea green for $L 600. The skirt attaches with a satiny prim belt and is layered with a transparent feather texture. This sophisticated outfit includes earrings, gloves and a sculpted hat with flexi feathers. *(Additional accessories: Stiletto Moody shoes and stockings, booN hair)
"Octopus," the most dramatic of Fashion Nomads Couture designs, is a fantasy of pink and prims, both translucent and feathered. The name was inspired by the long flexi feathers of the prim skirt. This unique gown comes with matching earrings and hat and is priced at $L 750. *(Additional accessories: Armidi Gisaci shoes, Kraftika and Chloe jewelry, Cake hair) Fashion Nomads is located on the Angel Dessous sim at Blue Sky.
