Maybe the title of my blog isn’t very true this time, because I am not made for the winter and its cold days, but I must say the winter fashion in SL is awesome at the moment, and I just can’t stop shopping and mixing and matching everything together.

When it comes to fashion, winter is a word that few like to hear, and many choose to deny its presence. The winter season can be as enjoyable as the summer season when it comes to sporting the latest fashion trends. Don’t let winter make you dull, keep looking for clothes and outfit combinations that will maintain your fresh look. Collect a variety of winter boots, jackets with different cuts and linings, and get some bags that will go with your winter look to keep up your image.

Winter clothes can never be complete without the mention of jackets and winter coats. Women’s winter jackets are designed to insulate you from the biting cold outside. Available in different lengths, you can play around with different styles and find one that can best suit all your different looks. If you have a fur in your wardrobe, you are lucky, because this season designers have returned fur to fashion. Furs always look perfect, and they are really chic on every woman.

Also, winter caps are essential winter wear. You must have one of them for keeping yourself cozy and warm during the winter. Usually people avoid wearing winter caps, as they feel it makes one look goofy and funny. Well, it may not be the same always, as you can look stylish by choosing the right one.

Lets grap some nice hot chocolate and see some of the outfits I bought.

KWZ Brings Fashion Week Attendees to Victorian and Gothic Worlds

BOSL FW2009 KWZ Teaser

The provocative designs of Kariwanz Felisimo of KWZ highlighted day five of this extraordinary BOSL Fashion Week 2009. These are the shows any Second Life fashionista or fashionisto will be talking about for months to come.

Held at the Patch Thibaud Auditorium, the KWZ show transported the audience into the world of Victorian, gothic, and modern haute couture…I’m not kidding…this was an incredibly innovative and creative show featuring designs for men, women, and even some childrens items, with a vast amount of attention to detail. The Cake dresses put us in mind of Marie Antoinette’s famous quote “let them eat cake”, but no calories of course.

Some of the men’s outfits were so incredibly romantic, they made me feel like swooning.

The set featured a long tunnel-like runway with an exquisite red carpet for models to glide upon. All along the sides of the tunnel were yellow taxis, no doubt waiting to whisk away all the elite guests at the conclusion of the affair.

Boulevard Agency models happily participating in this exciting show were; Mr. and Miss Virtual World; Liam Netizen and Mimmi Boa, Kay Fairey, Nemi McCoy, Fann Hyun, Gemini Hennesey, Bunny Tomorrow, Jarl Soderstrom, Alexia Speizer, and Wenedrenia Soderstrom.

One of the special highlights of this show was the appearance of Alexia Speizer and Wenadrenia Soderstrom showing the children’s designs. The outfits were adorable, as were the “children”, who delighted the audience with their antics.

Stitch by Stitch!

Depending on my mood, I like to wear outfits that have something creative or are just a little different from most brands in the Second Life fashion scene. One of these designers is Sevenstar Amat, designer of the fashion label Stitch by Stitch.

In real life, Sevenstar is a painter and fashion illustrator. In Second Life, Sevenstar as a creative and original designer. She has outfits for everyone, really, not only clothes, but also hair, shoes, jewelry, hats, and many more things you can find at her shops. She even offers cute and creative furniture in the same style as her fashion designs.

When I asked her where she gets those fantastic, creative ideas, Sevenstar told me her label is inspired by an early period of her life, handcrafting and good old craftsmanship. The stitches, the little details, the colorful details, the personal touch are what her clothes express. They are the opposite of anonymous mass production, there is a lot of love in the details. Sevenstar’s grandmother did a lot of embroidery; in fact, her whole family was into needlework, which is why you often see stitches on her clothes or in unexpected applications.

The colorfulness of Sevenstar’s creations comes also from her childhood. She lived in a multicultural area, and many of her grandmother’s customers were Gypsy women bringing her heavily embroidered fabrics and brocades to sew into garments.

So when you are in a creative mood, run to her shop, and dont stop buying. :)

When people ask me what is your favorite fashion style on Second Life, I always say it depends on my feeling of that day. I am not a girl that likes to wear one style, but most of the time it will be more casual then formal. Not that I dont like formal, but it isn’t really me when I am wearing it all day long.

The thing I like the most about fashion and all those fantastic fashion designers here at SL is that you can mix and match outfits until you drop down to the floor. I always think it is a challenge to make every outfit really stand out and not look the same as everybody else who has that outfit in SL. That is why I mix and match things from different designers. You should experiment, too, and have some fun!

Here are four fashion combinations I really enjoyed putting together.

I adore the summer, dont you? It makes me feel good, and it always puts a smile on my face.

When I was at Mimikri I saw a cute little summer dress called “Blossom.” I fell so totally in love with this dress that I had to share it with you. I noticed that Mimikri also had a very nice bikini in her shop, and, well, a girl cant have enough bikini’s! ;)
