Are You Boxers or Briefs? Vitamen Unveils New Underwear Line

 by Ritch Nicholls

Vitamen Hax has hit the mark again by releasing the new Vinyl Boy Series of underwear and tanks. It has only been out for awhile and is becoming increasingly popular.

The Vinyl Boy series comes in three types of underwear: boxer, brief, and thong.  Whichever you get is a matter of personal choice, however, each type comes with a matching tank. The vinyl texture on this underwear collection is exceptionally well done, creating a very sexy and sleek look. There are four options in the folder for the underwear and tank set: regular, frosted cup, thicken, and thicken frosted cup. The difference between looks depends on how revealing you want it to be and how dense the material shows. You can buy each oufit individually or buy the pack where you get all three underwear types and the tank all in one, for the affordable price of 370L. It is a unique outfit that I promise you will enjoy.

Vitamen also released a set of vinyl boxers with four fantastic themes: Rings, Maps, Rocket, and Robot. These four boxers give the vinyl series an exciting and creative twist. With this set, however, Vitamen collaborated with Tsuchino Co., who designed a fantastic pool bag that matches the pair you buy.

The Return of the DynaFleur

–posted from the DynaFleur Redux Press Release

After an absence of nearly 8 months, the popular and beloved DynaFleur immersive art installation has returned to Second Life. Spanning an entire sim high above the Victorian-themed Caledon Kintyre, DynaFleur is the kind of experience that truly is possible only in Second Life.

It has been augmented in this incarnation with new graphic and design elements, including a landscape composed of 25 interlocking sculpted megaprims…

Sculpty Landscape with Leaf Texture

….over which video rolls on a sim-wide scale.

DynaFleur with Video Landscape

DynaFleur with Video Landscape

Officially opened to the public on August 8th, 2009, DynaFleur presents the almost abstract, close-up, floral photography of Douglas Story in a very unusual way. The monumental and colorful installation is cradled by the sculpted landscape mentioned above. As you walk (and fall) through it, you are immersed in the densely layered sound design of Dizzy Banjo which is tailored to accompany the movements of the elements of the piece that surround you, all of them moving and changing in response to your presence. This magic is powered by complex scripts written by the talented and energetic Desdemona Enfield, which in turn were based on the open-source Reflexive Architecture scripts made available by Keystone Bouchard and his group.

One early visitor said in response to one of the three main sections of the sprawling piece, “I don’t know whether I’m in awe or creeped out.” The makers of DynaFleur were oddly pleased by this statement.

The landscape was made by Desdemona using mathematical data which was generated from a model that Douglas made from a grid of prims…

Terraforming in Miniature

…from this, Desdemona interpolated, massaged, and otherwise crunched the numbers to create sculpty maps, which she applied to a 5×5 grid of 50 meter megaprim spheres. Here’s a picture of a small-scale test:

Douglas, Desdemona, and our generous hostess here at Caledon Kintyre, Autopilotpatty Poppy, are all available for interviews, tours, and chit-chat.  More information may be had at our web site:

PSSST GUYS ONLY :)

Ok guys, I promised. Now I’m going to let you into a secret (don’t tell the girls … okay?)

If you want great clothes you’ve got to do 2 things…

Go looking in out of the way places (tell her you’re *coughs* exploring for new sims)

Learn to ‘mix and match’. (We do it all the time. That’s how you develop your own personal style.)

Now I said I’d show you some of the great Steampunk styles for men out there, but as I was visiting some of those fantastic sims, I found men’s clothes that were not only Steampunk, but some very nice surprises. Style, both casual and smexy, and I’m not done yet. Sooooo  keep watching.

Here goes :) Oh wait…um… another secret… (lots of the ladies like the ‘bad boy’ look. You might wanna remember that *giggles*)

First up from :SK Designs – it’s the ‘rough diamond’ look and very smexy. Definitely the kind of fashion you can play around with…mixing and matching within Sergio’s [Krasopani] designs and with others.

And now for something completely different. Onix Anthony is one of those people you meet and you’re glad you did. One of his designs is up for sale with ALL proceeds to help in cancer research.

Not bad huh? Look cool and help cancer research at the same time. Thanks Onix, what a great idea.

Jhao Oh Seeking Good Suffs @ Primitive Design

Hello everybody,  for the delay between the posts, but I have had some serious problems in my personal life, I hope you understand, but things are moving in a good way now. hehe. Thanks for your patience.

So continuing to post, I’ll show you  clothes from a great store called Primitive Design, all created by the talented Geyer Schnyder.

In this first picture I am wearing a leather jacket in burgundy, very well drawn, over a t-shirt  with an incredible pattern. The jacket contains a prim collar, and another prim at the waist. The jeans, also designed by Geyer, contain prim cuffs and are amazingly  well done.

RED STAR Creations

A few months ago I reviewed some fantasy and role play skins by Redstar Creations. The Redstar skins were inexpensive and nice.

Yesterday the owner of Redstar IMed me to show me their latest work, and I was floored by how far Redstar has evolved in the past few months – the newest Redstar skins (includes a Vampire skin line) are much more realistic and their armor and weapons are detailed and nicely textured.

Bastian Redstar told me, “The store is up and running now, and please note, we are in the process of creating more items. However, there are already some great items in the new store. Here are some pics of a few items we have created recently, and we’ll continue to create more and more for everyone – from roleplay themed to everyday items! Weapons are DCS2 and CCS compatible, amongst other meters, and our skins are highly detailed and inexpensive! Also, we give out freebies at the front of the store, and we send freebies to everyone in the group when new skins and other items are released! ENJOY!”

‘An Elegant Affair’–BOSL’s tribute to Coco Chanel

In the pantheon of fashion gods, one name rules above all others. A woman who was a pioneer, a rebel–a woman of unswerving self-belief; lover of many, truly known by few. The name is Mademoiselle Coco Chanel. Controversial throughout her life, Chanel created elegant yet simple clothes; garments that shocked and astounded in equal measure. A true innovator, her name still resonates, continually inspiring fashion designers in both real and virtual worlds to strive for excellence.

Coco Chanel 1

Paying tribute to Coco and her enduring legacy, twenty of SL’s most prestigious fashion houses were invited to design key pieces that would simultaneously define their own style and echo that of the great designer herself. Once again, the luxuriant setting of the Patch Thibaud Auditorium was the setting for this, the Grand finale to the ‘Best of Second Life Magazine’ fashion week. With its beautiful art deco furnishings, you could almost sense the ghost of Chanel herself-watching with approval from one of the balconies as the show began.

Coco Chanel 17

As the red velvet curtains drew back, a spectacular stage was revealed based on a Chanel shop front with stunning models from the Boulevard Agency, silhouetted against a Parisian sky. There were gasps from the huge assembled audience. The magnificence of the stage left us all spellbound as Cheri Parker, our welcoming host for the event, introduced the models. The evening’s entertainment, singer Elvera Lerner, serenaded us with her melodious voice, singing a selection of show tunes and Cole Porter classics, thus providing the perfect soundtrack to the supremely glamorous atmosphere.

Coco Chanel 16

The real stars of the show were the clothes themselves and the designers exceeded all expectations. Variations of Chanel classics such as the little black dress were given futuristic flourishes such as swirling fur trim and layers of opalescent tulle.  Chanel’s trademark pearls were encrusted over tight bodices. Her other signature design statement, tweed, was given a contemporary twist and featured on cropped jackets and headwear. Naturally, an emphasis on traditional Chanel colors of dynamic white and black featured heavily throughout, but each designer managed to make the creations their very own, imbuing the clothes with the essence of Chanel yet creating their own unique styles. Enhancing the clothes even further, footwear was provided by the incomparable Stiletto Moody, the perfect shoes to wear with any Chanel-inspired creation.

Coco Chanel 7

Even when the hour-long catwalk show was over, the excitement did not end, as the CEO of BOSL, Frolic Mills took to the stage, accompanied by all the participating models. Standing on top of a glistening white carousel, Mr. Mills announced to the thrilled audience, which included a huge selection luminaries from the SL fashion scene such as Raven Pennyfeather, Applonia Criss, Jarl Soderstrom and Mimi Juneau, that one lucky audience member would receive the entire collection. After calling out a selection of Chanel related questions in local chat, it was declared that the winner of this glittering prize was Nino Heartsdale who told me that she was “overwhelmed, stunned and completely delighted at winning these exquisite clothes”.  This show was undeniably a resounding triumph for all those involved and a fitting homage to Coco Chanel–a woman whose designs shaped the way we all dress today.

Dazzling Lady Thera

QUOTE:

Thera Taurog: Did you notice? People always look to be better on SL. The result is SL provides a better life to all of us:))

Thera is a warm and richly human person to chat to and it was my pleasure to catch up with her before her successful show today.

“You know the best sensation for me  doesn’t have to do with lindens.  I just love everytime I see a beautiful SL woman wearing something I did:))), that’s what drives me to make more.”

For those of you who missed today’s show, keep watching for the pics. It was without doubt the most creatively lovely fashion show I have seen this year. Congrats to Frolic and Nino who were responsible for all that wonderful visual stimulation.

And Lady Thera? Well she’s rather busy these days – happily so.

“I’ve decided to do only one [new design] per month because I got married a second time… And we wanted to enjoy other things on SL.”

Every happiness Thera from all of us at BOSL.

DESIGNER DUO IGNITES BOSL FASHION WEEK 2009 WITH THEIR BLAZING FALL COLLECTIONS

This show titled Cirque du Soleil (Circus of the Sun in English), was a sparkling extravaganza of sight and sound featuring two of Second Life’s most renowned designers:  Nonna Hedges (Details) and Mami Jewell (Azul).

What better venue to showcase these incredibly beautiful designs than the Patch Thibaud Auditorium, which was wonderfully transformed into an imaginative fantasy setting befitting the distinctive works of Nonna and Mami.

Well, remember I mentioned this show was an extravaganza of  sight and sound?  As a special surprise, we were treated to live music throughout the show provided by a talented Performer named Melodyblue Melody.  Ms. Melody is a First Life performer who has performed in many venues large and small.  Although relatively new to Second Life, it is clear she has a bright future here as she sings like an angel.  Her repertoire includes:  jazz, blues, R&B, and a little rock & roll.

Boulevard Agency provided the models for Cirque du Soleil.  Kay Fairey produced the show and the lovely models were;  Mimmi Boa, Summer Deadlight, Gemini Hennesy, Kyrinnia Desmoulins, Alexia Speizer, and Wenadrenia Soderstrom.

Thanks to Nonna Hedges and Mami Jewell for sharing their talents with us.  There are two more absolutely fantabulous days left of the BOSL Fashion Week 2009, you don’t want to miss a single minute…see you all there!
