Bringing you THE BEST OF SECOND LIFE

Costa Rica Sims Productions hosted the Runway Royalty fashion show this past Saturday. A extravagant showcase spotlighting designs from the all inclusive KINGS and QUEENS shopping experience located in the Commercial Shopping District.

The couture creations from Tres Beau, SF Designs, Donna Flora and Angel Dessous; as well as Sartoria, Styles of edo and Atelier Bonetto as well as 3636 Designs who contributed hair for the models.

Many residents were on hand to cheer on our Costa Rica Top Models like Carmicheal Caudron, SF Designs owner swaffette Firefly, Tres Beau’s Kimmera Madison and Costa Rica residents Gnosis Acanthus, Justininho Difference and many others.

Payton Heron took to the runway first dazzling all in the intricately designed “Ginger Jar” from Tres Beau. A strapless number with full prim skirt in swirls of blue and white, exuding royalty. Payton also modeled a sassy outfit from Donna Flora called “Alena”. A stunning bolero style jacket and A-line dress and oversized bow at the collar topped off with a juliet cap hat with inverted cloche. Very retro and classy.

Not to be left out skylei Caproni started her strut down the catwalk in “Baby bird” from SF Designs. A fun and flirty feathery dress with torso hugging bodice made from a semi-sheer laced halter crisscrossing over the chest and a delicate bow to the back and perfectly coifed hair “Eden” by 3636 Designs.

skylei returned with the beautiful vintage “Scarlet” from Donna Flora. Elegant and reminiscent of a long forgotten era. This dress with its floral accents and ruffled mermaid skirts as it brushes across the floor will captivate anyone caught in its path.

For the KING in all the men, LesPaul Ibanez showcased Electric Suit by Atelier Bonetto to perfection. A slimming three button down jacket with notch lapels and belted pants and stylish sculpted prim cuffs. The dress shirt in French blue with alabaster buttons and necktie in night-sky puts you in her eyes and you will have all her attention. This can be worn with or without jacket, tie; shirt opened or closed. A beautiful ensemble.

LesPaul was every bit the stylish man with “The Chic Tourist” by Sartoria. An all in one outfit in beige open jacket and sculpted lapel in cream and light blue tweed pattern, leather weave belted trousers lengthens the leg that also includes a shorts option with prim cuff. Its timeless and traditional.

Turning heads, ellekristen GossipGirl entered the stage in “Asia” from Tres Beau, inspired by the flavor of the Eastern Continent. With halter style top wrapping around to support short ruffled prims in hues of pinks and greens. The low fitting pants stop just above the ankle and bare the left leg with five Chinese knots holding the fabric together with vertical ruffled prims attached to each hip.

IndigoSky Escape modeled the most regal “Solice”, designed by Angel Dessous. Intricate detailing of the prim skirt and the sculpted flowered waist band, the torso hugging bodice just cupping the breast leaving enough cleavage to let any woman feel sexy being in this gown and the “Gardenia” hair by 3636 Designs.

The finale outfits left the audience wanting more. LesPaul Ibanez brought to mind images of James Bond as he modeled White Tuxedo Coordinated6 by Styles of edo. A white fitted jacket vented in the back will stay cool and comfortable in the Costa Rica climate making you stand out from the sea of black tuxedos. Black pants with subtle shading as well as a cummerbund, pocket square, and bow tie in deep red.

ellekristen dazzled all in “Symphony”, the epitome of a Haute Couture gown with its rich details. The flow of this realistic dress and attention to detail. A gathering of fabric wrapped around the waistline held together with a prim bow over the bustling and the meticulously sculpted flowers with diamond crusted balls as the stigma running up the length of the torso resting ever so gently on the bosom. Long black gloves polishes off this ensemble for a formal look. Symphony by Angel Dessous and XXX hair by 3636 Designs and the “Athena” hair by 3636 Designs.

skylei gracefully swept down the runway wearing the Elegant “Carrie” in China Red by Angel Dessous, a richly textured bustier in silk damask with a ruche bodice and dipping neckline that is embellished with a Silver and Crystal brooch which can be worn with the soft velvet short jacket as well. The quilted side panels are made to mold the torso then hug around into the bustling of the skirt. If you want to be a *QUEEN*, Carrie is the right choice for you.

The Queen of the Runway herself, Payton Heron wearing “Iberia Rosso” by Angel Dessous. This absolutely breathtaking and jaw dropping gown seen in a luscious crimson crinkled silk strapless corset detailed and beaded with the finest jewels. The flexi prims of the full skirt fall perfectly into place to show a skirt layer with a contrasting black lace coming from the waist. Long black velvet gloves and a laced black sculpt made to fit over the right shoulder naturally pulls eyes in your direction.

KINGS & QUEENS Proprietor Mina Pelazzi

Proprietor Mina Pelazzi of KINGS and QUEENS turned alot of heads herself, her entrance worthy of that of a Queen wearing luxurious lacey white with ruffled prim sleeves atop regal black. Her hair, perfect, her look, flawless. The Runway Royalty show is going to be a hard act to follow, but I have complete faith in our production team to continue to astound us with their style and poise.

Save the Boobies Date Auction

Finishing up our part in the Breast Cancer Awareness events, also known as Save The Boobies, the Date Auction was overflowing with lovely lassies and gorgeous guys. So many people were clamouring to bid on their favorite I must have crashed five times just trying to find a seat, so I finally just decided to stand. The bidding was crazy! Like Costa Rica hottie Filo Tani’s bid was already at 10,000L when I got there! While I don’t have the numbers of who went for how much (should have that soon), I have it on good authority that a huge amount of money has been raised by Costa Rica sims with all of the events. Way to go Costa Rica!!! We rock!

After that it was time for the Think Pink after party. Our wonderful Estate Manager Dolci Woodget did a quick restart of the sim and DJ Booch Capelo started the tunez. Quite funny when I see people sitting on the edge of a sim as its restarting. So sue me, I get a kick out of it. The dancefloor was pumping with bass as a good number of the auctionees poured in. Sam as always had the best huddles for shaking it with style. Willy must have been fought over in the auction because he was stretched all out of shape! Man, you women are vicious! LOL!

In between these festivities, we had the Natural Wonders Photo Contest. Ha! I’ll bet you forgot about that with all these boobies around, didn’t you? Well I didn’t. It was a lovely afternoon with the elegant Miss Ceci Dover’s voice filling the hall. The winner this month was the talented Domitalia Jinx for her stunning photo of the waterfalls in geko Stoop’s Memorial Forest and won 5,000L! Congratulations from your family at Costa Rica Dom!!! Rounding out this month’s events will be the August Rezz day babies!!! That’s this Saturday at 4pm slt. Keep an eye out for group notices for the location and the theme. And finally, The Influentials, a fashion fueled party celebrating the achievements of our own Miss Costa Rica Sims 2010 Nisa Constantine! That will be this coming Sunday at 12pm noon slt. Dress in your most fashionable and join us for a wonderful event!

I want to give a huge thank you to my fellow executives and a big shout out to Ipunin Pera for organizing the Breast Cancer Awareness events with us. Remember it is not yet over for her as she has more events in other places going on so if you still wish to donate, just let her know.

Nisa Constantine, Miss Costa Rica Sims 2010

Did you know that our own Miss Costa Rica Sims 2010 Nisa Constantine is a boating enthusiast? I sure didn’t. But she rattled off the names of the boats she owns like a pro.

“The marina in Costa Rica was what got me interested. That and all this open water we have. I have the Ellison Moray, an Apolon speedboat, the Juli Gothly Costa Rica Ad Astra, the Gothly JG44, and I have two Flying Fizzes; the 1.0 and the 2.0 and I have my eye on a couple of Trudeaus. LOL”

Nisa would classify herself as a beginner but she’s taking sailing lessons has a goal to move to an island parcel here in Costa Rica surrounded by open water with room for a little marina. “I want to really get good and try the SL America’s Cup. I just moved from the rainforest back to the beach right on the open water.”

Sailing aside, this beauty was on Second Life for eight months before venturing into the world of fashion. “I was probably the best dressed noob you’ll ever see! Redgrave Skin, Moody Shoes and I lived in LeeZu LOL! I was also the PA to the CEO of Black Soul Rhythms Radio and eventually a DJ for that station with my own weekly show.” Nisa hosts her own show Saturdays from 5 to 7 pm slt and is renowned for her DJ skills. From radio to fashion seems a bit of a leap.

“I had a friend who designed clothes and owned a clothing store. She needed a model for her store vendors. She thought I was pretty so she asked me. All I had to do was hop on a pose-stand so I said ‘Why not?’ Then she asked me to walk in her fashion show and I was clueless! So I did some research and asked around and signed up for classes at SuperElite. I learned what I needed to learn so I didn’t make a fool of myself on that runway. And clueless, lucky me had Mimmi Boa, the previous MVW, as one of my instructors.”

Though the show was a success and Nisa really enjoyed the experience, her real life listeners were calling and she found her radio show more popular than ever so she returned to focus on that. It wasn’t long though before she was roped back into the industry.

“I met a model named Lifing Krasner who also taught at an academy. She took me under her wing and taught me everything she knew. She
thought I had what it took and she encouraged me to at least try. I walked in the academy’s grad show and Mallory Luke, then the owner
of Opium was in the audience. Now Opium wasn’t hiring at the time, but she sent me an IM and told me she wanted me to join her agency. I wasn’t so clueless that I didn’t recognize that opportunity so I took it.

“A week or 2 later I was chatting with Gian and he suggested that I enter the Miss Costa Rica Sims pageant. He told me it would be fun and I didn’t need to be a professional model. So I wrote up my entry, attached a couple of photos and sent it in never thinking I would win.”

But win she did. When her name was called, Nisa was astounded.

“I tell you I almost died when they announced my name. I was so nervous! I just wanted to get through the pageant, praying that the lag didn’t win, praying my prims would attach and my poses would work. I knew I wasn’t going to win – there were some beautiful women competing and they were seasoned models, not noobs like me LOL.

“I remember them calling Flo’s [Florentine Rau] name as the 1st runner up and I’m waiting for them to announce Imani as the winner and I’m in IM’s with my SL sister making plans to find a party. I was sitting in bed with my oldest daughter half watching a movie when she started screaming! I asked her if she had lost her mind and she’s yelling ‘Nisa won! Nisa won!’ I almost passed out. First thing that went through my mind was ‘OMG!! I have to do MVW!’ It took everything in me not to IM Gian and tell him they made a mistake!”

Even though initially she was jazzed to be entered into MVW 2010, the reality of it hit her quick. “I was TERRIFIED! I didn’t even know who Frolic Mills was until the CR Pageant. [We won't hold this against her, right guys?] Once I found out I thought he’d take one look at me and buzz Gian and tell him he better go back to the drawing board!”

Surrounded by 23 finalists, some of the most beautiful and experienced models in Second Life, Nisa kept her grace as the top ten finalists were called for MVW 2010. She made the top ten.

“I didn’t believe it during the pageant. Devine had to send me an IM saying ‘Girl get your butt out here! They called your name!’”

With a solid support system behind her, Nisa accomplished more than she thought she ever would. “I had my best friend in SL/RL in my corner. iwan told me everyday ‘Nisa, look at yourself through my eyes…see what I see and you’ll do great.’ I stayed in Gian’s IM’s and he was true to form ‘Nisa, you’ll be just fine.’ I always believe in giving 100% and doing my absolute best at everything but I was out of my element. I had actually won the privelege of representing THE Costa Rica Sims so I had to bring my A game. I just didn’t think I had one. Mallory Luke and Lifing Krasner both gave me a good talking to and I got my act together.”

“Looking back now I don’t think it was a mistake any longer. I may not have been an accomplished, seasoned model but I’m intelligent, very observant, a fast learner and I did receive excellent training. I went out there and I did my best and I worked very hard. Most importantly I stayed true to myself. So I think that’s the way to approach any goal you’re working towards. Even if you’re like me and find yourself working towards something without a clue how you got there. Even now I still have my moments. When Gian told me I was being honored I was like ‘Why?’ I’m thinking about past honorees and I haven’t done anything even close to what they have.”

Ever so humble. But Nisa has not missed the big picture. She’s learned to believe in herself and how to share that knowledge with others who may find themselves in the same place. In thinking of inspiring people there were many but one in particular she really wanted to thank.

“Her name is Marjorie Dibou and she’s the CEO of Black Soul Rhythms Radio. I met her here in Second Life. She wanted to start a radio station, just a hobby because she loves music so she came to SL because she had heard how music friendly it was. Word got out and people started to listen when they weren’t logged in. Long story short, BSR is now on iTunes, is sought after by independent music artists and streamed literally all over the world. And I am happy to say that I am a part of that. Hip Hop Fundamentals with DJ Nisa!”

Her advice for the next winner of Miss Costa Rica Sims 2011 who will then compete in the Miss Virtual World 2011 pageant: “The MVW pageant is very demanding. My advice to her would be to remain true to herself, stay grounded and keep her true friends close – those friends who knew her before she became Miss CRS and aren’t impressed with titles and crowns.”

Some of her favorite designers the design teams at Armidi and Lelutka, Joy Fellini, Cynthia Ultsch and the Cynful Team, CK Winx, Sunami Beck, Ivy Graves, Sissy Pessoa, LeeZu Baxter and Monica Outlander. Believe me this list could go on and on and on and on…

While Nisa still considers herself an “accidental model,” since she found herself in the middle of the Second Life fashion world quite by accident. Her goals will be to continue to educate herself, hone her skills and decide what, “(if anything) I would like to do in the fashion world in the future.”

Some of her favorite fashion websites are Elie Tahari, Martin + Osa, Tory Burch, Banana Republic, Via Spiga and Alexander Wang. She also has subscriptions to Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Lucky and Marie Claire. “Of course I am always on the Costa Rica Sims website and I do love the Maniera website and I subscribe to the RSS feed.”

This 3 day extravaganza would not have been possible without the help of so many designers, builders, and friends of the estate. DJ Mikee Gemini slings the tunes

Hippity Hoppy, Hippity Hop… If you were following the tails of Samantha, adorable in her pink bunny outfit, or the swaying tails of Suga Hunniton and Jaderose Violet as DJ MikeeGemini blasted hot tune after tune, then you were not looking for cupcakes at this months Costa Rica Sims Bunny Festival.

Thats right. 42 cupcakes were hidden throughout the Z Couture Bunneh sim La Fortuna. If you found one my hats off to you. By the end of the first hour, I think even before that, there were only 15 left! Then 5! Then 4! Then no more. You knew the ending to that tale didn’t you? xD

Inside you would find nests, new ears, new furs, all types of shades and ears and eyes. There was one cupcake on the dance floor but alas I am too slow. Got swiped right out from under me. More and more residents teleported in like Costa Rica residents inkie Loudwater, Sacha Savira, Sydney Bonde, Hillie Delicioso, Eve Dembo (fellas she’s up for bidding for Breast Cancer Awareness Win A Date auction rawr) and with DJ Mikee’s on air comedy, something about a threesome was mentioned. xD

It was Estate Manager Dolci Woodget (so glad your back Dolci!) and Ellison Designs Clay Ellison (aka Professor Prim) real life birthday! Happy Birthday you two! They set off to work after the party and drumroll… a brand new speedboat for Costa Rica Sims! What a couple of sweeties, its their birthday and they give us pressies. It would be great to see some of you on your own Costa Rica boat in some photos. I’d love to add them to the Flickr and our Facebook group!

Well as all good things tend to come to an end, the cupcakes were all accounted for and it was time for DJ Mikee to bring the party to a close. Big sighs. We’ll get him back! CECI's Manager Michael takes the lead

What an outstanding ball this was! More residents than I’ve ever seen and all having a wonderful time with their friends and loved ones. Ceci Dover with entourage in tow, took many requests for lovers and friends alike then belted out some hot latin tunes to keep the party moving. She really is a joy and if you missed this event, do make the next one. I’m not sure but Michael, Ceci’s manager, seemed to be leading a group dance. Must have been a huddles. But you know thats a great idea. We should get one of those conga line dance thingajigs for the latin numbers!

Seeing so many familiar and new faces join in this event like Gnosis, Ipunin Pera, Malate Banufong, Rosella Rhiano, redhairgenie and her guy Kenshin Xevion, Sammit and Ella, Serafine Szondi, Sanodore Arriaga, Tosha, Willy and so many more. Jaymz Pearl even showed up and whisked Samantha away on a romantic dance. Everyone was dazzling and truly went out of their way to look extra special.

Costa Rica Sims 3rd Year Anniversary

As per usual the Ladies’ Society Friendship Ball for Costa Rica revealed everyone in their finest attire. Couples danced along to the sounds of Ms Ceci Dover for the hour and perhaps many new friends were made.

Most dazzling to see was Willy Oakleaf and his dance partner Niche Shim as well as Costa Rica residents Chase Roddenham and Solitaire Bamaisin who was glorious in an emerald green gown.

Ipunin Pera turned heads in her stunning scarlet dress and Costa Rica resident Helenna Baxton looked ready to accept an Academy Award. Hollywood starlets, eat your heart out.

Residents and entourage of Ceci alike had a grand time and again if you have yet to attend the Ladies’ Society Friendship Ball, you should definitely make the effort. Hope to see you all in September as its shaping up to be a big and busy month for Costa Rica.

DJ MikeeGemini and company at Costa Rica Sims

Think Pink! Costa Rica residents and friends put on their psychodelic threads and journeyed to the Breast Cancer Awareness Save The Boobies Kick-Off party. DJ MikeeGemini arrived, entourage in tow. Not that he stopped there. The dance floor was swimming in colors as everyone danced away to classics from the 60’s through the Disco days of the 70’s. Chase Roddenham got his wish several times with excellent requests that set the party on fire.

So many donations were made with even more people arriving and giving for the cause. DJ Mike set a challenge for himself to not talk through a whole song. If you’ve been to any of his sets, you will know this is quite hard for him. LOL. But lo and behold, he did it! Though I heard that he was still typing to someone but that wasn’t part of the deal so its cool.

Several of the people that are up for bidding in the Date-Auction such as redhairgenie Cabassoun were on hand as well as Carmichael Caudron, LesPaul Ibanez, Chase and Solitaire, Deecee Zuzu, DzinWiz Babii, Willy and Niche and Gnosis Acanthus in the most blinding outfit this side of the planet and Tosha Bergan showed us all how to stand up to glitches and crashes with her very clever protest sign.

It was inspiring to see so many people from so many walks of life come together to fight cancer with not just their lindens but their time.
